Puzzles # 38 & 39: 7:59 Challenges #11 & 12!
Here we are at last; the final 7:59 Challenge post! I hope you've enjoyed something a bit different the past few weeks - normal transmission shall resume with some 9x9 sudokus next time!
The last 2 puzzles feature a relatively common variant - Diagonal Sudoku - and a relatively uncommon variant - Fortress Sudoku. Both puzzles are quite tricky, particularly the 1st one, so good luck and let me know your thoughts on this puzzle series! Did you like it? How did your medal times stack up? The gold time is just that bit quicker than me in all cases so I challenge you to be quicker than me!
As an added bonus, both variants feature in next weekend's WPF Sudoku GP Rd 2 - the diagonal is worth 53 points and I think this puzzle is at least as tricky as that; the fortress is worth 86 points - the highest pointer of the contest! - and my puzzle is a good warm-up for the highest pointer of the contest!
